Though really it was more like 1 hour, 6 spark plugs and 4 hours for the other *&+#ing 2. (This is on the Suburban). And you know what, most of that 4 hours was on the spark plugs wires to get them off.
I wasn’t planning to replace the wires, but the only way I could get the #8 wire off was destroying it.
So much for an easy maintenance job for today. Time for a beer.

iridium or ruthenium so you never have to do them again! Pair them with NGK wires which look cool and are numbered

Just be glad you don’t need to do them often. How many miles did you get out of those?

Replaced them with OE AC Delco, which are iridium.

Hey, I just did the same thing a few days ago . I destroyed three or four wires getting them off.

A turbo Subaru once took me about sixteen hours for four plugs. Most of it was advancing a ratchet one click at a time. Never again.
